A sturdy travel companion
This is my first serious camera purchased for me by my dad before I went to live with family in France for a year. It was a big deal for me to get this since I'm sure we didn't have that much money for such expensive things. I'll cherish it forever.

I didn't know you lived for a year in France! Me too! Where were you? I lived in Languedoc-Rousillon. How interesting!
I was in Aix-en-Provence.
That's not too far from Perpignan, where I was, but funds were rather short, so didn't do much traveling around. I will get there someday!
